It has been a few years now since we ventured out on our own after 30 years with a construction company based in Port Clyde. A wonderful treat has been all our former costumers that have found us and taken part in this new chapter.
For Fred Mazzoni construction has always been part of his life. With a general contractor as a father he has been exposed to all facets of construction including design and cabinetry. He's pursued every chance to work on islands in the area and has enjoyed their pure beauty as well as the challenge that island work can present.
I, Kay Mazzoni (formerly Menzel), started my painting career in 1983 getting pulling-boats ready for the summer season at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and moved on to house painting in 1987. Over the years, working with customers and coming up with just the right colors for their homes has been very rewarding. There has been a little time to dabble in some faux painting and unique finishes as well. For years my carpentry was limited to weekends, but I now have a chance to also build what I paint.
We both have worked on wonderful new houses and also made old houses sound and beautiful again. Whenever someone wants to incorporate a little history (a couple of old doors, a window, maybe an old newel post) into their home, we love to help find and refurbish whatever that piece may be.
There may be projects too large for Menzeloni Works, but none too small and we are always up for a challenge.
